Sustainability Highlights

In 2018, GloryBee became Safe Quality Food (SQF) certified, which is another way of demonstrating our proactive commitment to delivering food our customers can trust. SQF ensures food safety and quality management from the source, through processing and distribution, to the customer.

GloryBee sources honey from beekeepers in Oregon, Washington and Idaho in addition to importing from Thailand, Brazil, Canada and Mexico. GloryBee requires our suppliers to comply with international labor and environmental standards. All of our honey is now tested for purity through third-party True Source Certification.

In 2018, we diverted 81% of our total waste from landfills. Our largest recycle stream is plastic barrels and we are now working with Lane County Emergency Management to provide barrels for emergency water storage.

Our complete facility energy mix includes purchased electricity, onsite solar generation and natural gas. We used 6% less fuel in 2018 to move 5% more goods.

We've reduced water usage 24% since 2013. The slight increase in 2018 was due to new processing equipment and our adoption of stricter sanitation policies.

100% of GloryBee employees are paid above a living wage and provided health benefits. We continually ask our employees for ideas to improve efficiency and give them a direct cut of company savings. 53% of our company's leaders are women, while 43% of our employees are female.

56% of our employees participated in our paid community stewardship program in 2018/
